Sen. Risa Hontiveros called on the Senate anew on Monday to issue an arrest warrant for Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder and leader Apollo Quiboloy as she denied his appeal to set aside the contempt order and recall the subpoenas issued against him.
Hontiveros, chair of the Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality, said she had requested Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri to order Quiboloy’s arrest for repeatedly defying the summons requiring him to attend the ongoing hearing into allegations made by former followers against him and his religious sect.
According to her, Quiboloy can be arrested as soon as Zubiri signs the arrest order, adding that the Senate is ready to keep the KOJC leader in its custody.
