Pedestrian killed in road rage shooting in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — A pedestrian was shot dead in a road rage incident on Sunday, March 17, in Bacoor City, Cavite, police said.

In a report on Monday, the Region 4A police said Marvin John Anas walking around 11 p.m. on the street in Sitio (sub-village) Wawa in Barangay Zapote when he was bumped by a still unidentified male motorcycle rider.

A heated argument ensued between Anas and the motorcycle rider. Suddenly, the rider pulled out a handgun and shot Anas once, hitting him on his body.

The gunman fled after the shooting.

Rescuers rushed Anas to the Las Piñas District Hospital in Las Piñas City but was declared dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound.

The report did not provide other information about the victim.

Investigators were trying to identify the perpetrator through the security camera in the area.

Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant. INQ
