MANILA, Philippines—Four people were killed in a vehicular accident in Davao City, Highway Patrol Group (HPG) director Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said Wednesday.
Espina identified the fatalities as Eliezer Tarongoy, Rene Aurellana, three year old Antoine Teodoro, and Imie Belardo, who was the first casualty reported earlier.
Espina said the accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on the corner of McArthur highway and Santos Cuyugan avenue in Matina, Davao City when the six-wheeler dump truck, driven by a Hendry Villarobiabengil, allegedly lost its brakes and hit a passenger Suzuki multicab, a Bachelor bus loaded with passengers, and a taxi.
Twelve people were left injured and were being treated in Davao Doctor’s Hospital, said Espina.
Investigation was ongoing for the filing of cases against the dump truck driver, Espina added.
