“Ang interest natin diyan is of course the trade in meat products. Mayroon silang exportation ng beef. Ang sabi sa akin ni Secretary Kiko kanina, they have technologies … to make ‘yung gamot para pagandahin ang lagay ng mga inaalagaan nilang livestock,” the President told reporters in Prague, as quoted in the PCO’s press release.

(Our interest in that is of course the trade in meat products. They have exportation of beef. Secretary Kiko told me earlier, they have technologies … to make the medicine to improve the condition of the livestock they raise.)

The President added that if conditions permit, the Philippines will not only procure the medicines but will also eventually produce its own livestock pill.

So, that’s what we’re looking at… So that we have our own source,” he said in Filipino.

“It’s really in terms of trade (because) we don’t grow the same products, we do not have seasons like they have here in the Czech Republic. But in terms of livestock, I think…marami tayong makukuhang bagong (we could learn a lot of new) technology,” he added.
