MANILA, Philippines — Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) operations will be temporarily suspended from March 28 to 31 to give way to maintenance activities, its management said Friday.
“Magpapatupad ng tigil-operasyon ang Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) sa Semana Santa, mula March 28 hanggang March 31, 2024 (Huwebes Santo hanggang Linggo ng Pasko ng Pagkabuhay) para bigyang-daan ang annual maintenance activities ng LRT-2,” the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced on Facebook.

The LRTA also said it would implement shortened operating hours on Holy Wednesday, March 27.
The first LRT-2 train will leave Recto and Antipolo stations at 5 a.m. on March 27 and the last train from both stations will depart at 7 p.m., according to the LRTA.

Regular operations of LRT-2 will resume on April 1, it added.
Earlier, the Department of Transportation issued an advisory telling the public that operations of Metro Rail Transit Line 3 or MRT-3 will be suspended from March 28 to 31 also due to maintenance activities.
As for the Holy Week 2024 operations of LRT-1, the Light Rail Manila Corporation has not released any information on the matter as of writing.
