MANILA, Philippines — Three weather systems will continue to bring rain over parts of the country on Thursday amid hot and humid temperatures, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said the northeast monsoon, locally known as the “amihan” and the shear line are currently affecting parts of Luzon.

“Asahan pa rin ang maulang panahon sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon, kabilang ang Aurora, Quezon and Camarines Norte dulot ng shear line,” said Estareja in Pagasa’s latest forecast.

(Due to the shear line, rain is still expected in some parts of Luzon, including Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.)

“Meron pa ring epekto ng amihan, asahan ang makulimlim na panahon sa Cagayan Valley at partly cloudy to cloudy skies sa Cordillera region na may tiyansa rin ng mahihinang pag ulan,” he added.

(The effects of the northeast monsoon persist; expect overcast skies in Cagayan Valley and partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the Cordillera region, with chances of isolated light rains.)

The rest of Luzon, likewise, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with hot and humid temperatures, especially at noon.

Meanwhile, generally fair weather will prevail in Visayas and Mindanao, with low rain chances due to the easterlies.

Estareja said no storms or low-pressure areas are expected to enter or form within the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.
