DOTr: Weekend traffic slowdown in several NCR roads due to subway project
MANILA, Philippines — Traffic buildup is expected in several roads in Metro Manila this weekend (March 15 to 17, 2024) due to the transport of tunnel boring machines for the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).
In a post on social media, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said that the machines will be transported to the Camp Aguinaldo Station in Quezon City.
According to the DOTr, the following roads will experience a slow down on March 15, 9 p.m. to March 16 at 4 a.m. and March 16 at 9 p.m. to March 17 at 4 a.m.:
- Port/ R-10 (between 9 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.)
- C3 Road (between 9:30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.)
- 5th Avenue (between 10:30 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.)
- G. Araneta Avenue (between 12:00 A.M. to 1:30 A.M.)
- E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue (between 1:30 A.M. to 2:00 A.M.)
- Gilmore Avenue (between 2:00 A.M. to 3:00 A.M.)
- Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue (between 3:00 A.M. to 4:00 A.M.)
The DOTr added that the tunnel boring machines will be used in the construction of the tunnels which will connect MMSP’s Camp Aguinaldo Station and Ortigas Station.
“Motorists are advised to take alternate routes,” it added.
