SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Farmers in two villages in San Marcelino town are expected to benefit from the collaboration between the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in exploring community-based agribusiness to improve their livelihood.
The DA Regional Field Office 3 (RFO 3), said the agency and KOICA would carry out the project aimed at increasing the total annual income of Central Luzon farmers by 20 percent from all farm products.
In a statement on Tuesday, March 12, the DA RFO 3 said the project would be implemented this year and is expected to be completed by 2029, with funding from KOICA amounting to more than $6 million (P332 million), while the DA would allocate $600,000 (P33 million).

The DA ROF 3 said the funds would be used to purchase equipment and materials such as an incubation center, rice mill, agricultural inputs, and others.
In Zambales, the villages of Buhawen and Sta. Fe in San Marcelino were selected to receive the grant.
Farmers at the villages of Macaguing and Sta. Ines Centro in Sta. Ignacia town in Tarlac province are also among the project’s beneficiaries. INQ
