DICT kicks off this year’s regional roadshow in Pampanga

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched this year’s "Bayang Digital ang Bagong Pilipinas: DICT Regional Roadshow," with DICT Region 3 staging the inaugural leg on March 14 to 15 in Pampanga.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched this year’s “Bayang Digital ang Bagong Pilipinas: DICT Regional Roadshow,” with DICT Region 3 staging the inaugural leg on March 14 to 15 in Pampanga.

The event will showcase the flagship programs and services of the DICT through seminars, workshops, and breakout sessions, it said in a statement.

It also aims to celebrate the pivotal role of Filipinos in ICT development.

“Some training sessions slated during the said Roadshow include Technical Training on Optical Cable Splicing, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and an orientation on the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) digital signature,” it added.

DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy, local government officials, partners from other government agencies, and other stakeholders will attend the activities, which will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Participating offices that will set up interactive booths for attendees include the Cybersecurity Bureau, Government Digital Transformation Bureau, ICT Industry Development Bureau, ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau, National ICT Planning, Policy and Standards Bureau, e-Government Team, Free Wi-Fi for All Programs Project Management Team, National Broadband Program, National Government Data Center, and the National Government Portal Project,” the DICT said.

Upcoming roadshow schedules are as follows: Region 1 on April 25 on 26, Region IV-A Calabarzon on May 16 to 17, and Region IV-B Mimaropa on June 20 to 21.

Meanwhile, Regions 5 to 13 and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao are scheduled for August to October, with finalized dates to be announced.
