Fastfood crew reaches out to fire victims

A huge fire left 433 families (2069 individuals) homeless in barangay Suba, Pasil Cebu City last March 9.

The fire victims were evacuated to the barangay sports complex and Pasil fish port.

On March 31, exactly three weeks after the fire, Jollibee Metro Colon, through its community relations program, together with the barangay officials headed by barangay captain Rogelio Resurrection, extended help to the victims.

The fastfood’s crew and management team distributed soaps, toothbrushes, toothpastes and other personal items needed by the victims.

The items were purchased from the proceeds of a donation box installed exclusively for the staff at the senior cashier’s office.

Almost 80 crew members dropped in P50 each, while 13 others from the management team chipped in P100 each. They also donated used clothings.

The marketing team also coordinated with the women’s group in the barangay to provide entertainment to the children of fire victims that included games, giving of packages drawn from the raffles, giving of gifts and dancing and picture taking with Jollibee mascot.

They also distributed Chicken joy packed lunch to the fire victims.

The activity was held on the third floor of Suba Pasil barangay hall, where more than a hundred children, together with their mothers, experienced four hours of bliss.

Everyone was at high spirit and hyperactive.
