Suspected drug pusher’s arrest yields seizure of P2-M shabu in Lucena city

LUCENA CITY – Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested a suspected “high-value” drug trafficker and seized more than P2 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in this city on Saturday, March 9.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, in a report on Sunday (March 10), said members of the drug enforcement unit busted “Ann,” 45, after she allegedly sold P9,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Cotta around 11:55 p.m.

Authorities confiscated from the suspect a total of 17 sachets of meth weighing 102 grams with an estimated value of P693,600, based on information from the Dangerous Drugs Board.

The seized shabu is worth over P2 million in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, according to the police.

Police tagged “Ann” on the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual on the local drug scene.

She has been detained and will face a formal complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
