Pagasa predicts rain in Bicol due to northeast monsoon or amihan
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies with chances of rain showers are expected to prevail in most parts of the country due to two weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a morning forecast, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon or amihan will particularly affect Northern and Central Luzon, while easterlies will affect the rest of the country.
“Ngayong araw ay dala nito [amihan] ang mataas na tsansa ng pag-ulan dito sa bahagi ng Bicol Region and also meron din itong dalang mahihinang pagulan or pag-ambon dito naman yan sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon maging sa silangang bahagi ng Central Luzon,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
(Today, Amihan will bring rain in parts of the Bicol Region, with slight rains in Northern Luzon and Central Luzon.)

Besides the two conditions, Castañeda further reported they have not monitored any weather disturbance or low-pressure area that may enter the country’s area of responsibility.
She added no gale warning had been raised in any of the country’s seaboards.
