CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A total of P1.2 billion-worth of cash aid and programs will be distributed to around 50,000 people in Oriental Mindoro, House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez said.
that the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Oriental Mindoro will distribute a total of P1.2 billion-worth of cash aid and programs to around 50,000 residents of the province.
“This is the result of the call of the administration of President Marcos Jr., to bring government services closer to the people, especially those related to providing financial assistance and rice to our countrymen,” said Romualdez.
The aid will be given through the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF), a program envisioned as a one-stop shop for government services, offering driver’s license renewal, PhilHealth registration, and applications for passports, clearances, and memberships.
For the Oriental Mindoro leg, 42 government agencies are providing 265 services to an estimated 50,000 beneficiaries. A total of P1.2 billion in assistance programs will be granted, with P278 million in cash aid.
Cash aid programs include a Department of Social Welfare and Development province-wide payout reaching over 28,000 beneficiaries for P62 million, and a DOLE payout for 9,000 oil spill-affected individuals for P115 million.
The BPSF will also distribute P145 million worth of farm machinery to 52 farmers’ cooperatives and associations under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Mechanization Program.
“We are expanding the programs offered in our Serbisyo Fairs to include assistance for our farmers’ cooperatives. This farm machinery will help boost the harvest of our rice farmers,” said Speaker Romualdez.
“The aim is to visit all 82 provinces of the Philippines to let our countrymen feel the Bagong Pilipinas of PBBM,” he added.
The BPSF opened at the Oriental Mindoro National High School on March 9, with a ceremonial turnover of over 20 programs.
