DPWH warns of traffic jam amid bridge upkeep in La Union, Albay
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) warned motorists of possible traffic congestion as it conducts bridge maintenance works in La Union and Albay next week.
In separate advisories posted on Facebook, the agency said it is set to work on Ambangonan Bridge 2 in Pugo, La Union, and Padang Bridge in Legazpi City, Albay.

DPWH Region 1 said moderate traffic may be expected along Rosario-Pugo Road, Barangay Ambangonan in Pugo town from March 11 to 12, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., due to the installation of prestressed concrete girders for the widening of Ambangonan Bridge 2.
“Traffic management will be observed as vehicles may take turns to pass through,” states the advisory issued Saturday.

On the other hand, the DPWH said Padang Bridge in Legazpi City is scheduled for a three-hour closure from 11 p.m. on March 16 to 2 a.m. on March 17 to give way to the lifting of the bridge’s girders.
“Normal traffic flow will resume once activity is completed,” DPWH Region V said in a Facebook post on Friday.
