MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected in most parts of the country on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
“Ang buong Luzon ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Ana Clauren said.
(The entire Luzon will experience fair weather.)
“Dumako naman tayo sa Visayas kung saan wala tayong inaasahang malakawang pag-ulan diyan, generally maaliwalas ang panahon,” she added.
(The Visayas will also habe fair, good weather and widespread rains are not expected.)
Clauren, however, said some parts of Mindanao may experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
“Sa bahagi naman ng Mindanao, sa may Caraga at Davao region posible din po sila makaranas ng isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, pero sa nalalbing bahagi ng Mindanao, mababa ang tiyansa ng pag-ulan,” she added.
(As for Mindanao, in Caraga and Davao Region, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are also possible, but in the rest of Mindanao, the chance of rain is low.)
Meanwhile, Pagasa did not issue a gale warning in any seaboards nationwide.
The country is still reeling under the effects of El Niño or the weather phenomenon which increases the prospect of below-normal rainfall conditions that could bring negative impacts such as “dry spells” or droughts in some parts of the country until the first quarter of 2024, according to Pagasa.
Pagasa added that no tropical cyclone is expected to hit the country in the next three to five days.
