Fire in Quezon razes 3 houses

LUCENA CITY — A fire that was possibly caused by faulty electrical wiring burned three houses in Gumaca town in Quezon province on Tuesday, March 5, police said.

The blaze started around 12:45 p.m. on the second floor of the house owned by Nestor Hular in Barangay San Vicente, the police said in a report Wednesday, March 6.

Because the house was made of light materials, the blaze quickly spread and burned two more adjacent houses owned by Shiela and Angelo, both surnamed Hular. The report did not provide details on the family relationship among the three house owners.

Local firemen were able to put off the fire 35 minutes later.

Fire investigators suspected that the blaze was caused by defective electrical wiring after one of the victims saw flashing wires before the blaze broke out.

No casualties or serious injuries were reported in the fire incident.

The property damage was placed around P220,000.
