Apollo Quiboloy’s supporters urge Risa Hontiveros to resign

MANILA, Philippines — Apollo Quiboloy’s supporters decried the Senate’s investigation of the self-proclaimed Appointed Son of God’s alleged crimes, urging Senator Risa Hontiveros to resign instead.
Quiboloy’s followers staged a protest outside the Senate on Tuesday morning to express their opposition. In unison, they chant: Risa, resign!

The protest was made before the resumption of the Senate panel on women’s probe on the contentious sect leader.
In an ambush interview, INQUIRER.net sought the protesters’ explanation for calling for Hontiveros’ resignation.
“Sapagkat ang sa amin, hindi siya nagiging fair. Dapat sana ang lahat ng witnesses niya ay sa-side din sa Kingdom, sa-side din kay Pastor. Dapat marinig din. Meron kaming mga counter na mga question sa kanila, so sa kanilang pagsasabi, dapat malalaman din ni Senator Risa Hontiveros ang sa-side din kay Pastor Quiboloy,” said Benjie Gantalao, Kingdom of Jesus Christ’s (KJC) Political Affairs Coordinator.
(Because for us, she is not being fair. What should be done is that all witnesses should include those who will side with the Kingdom and will side with the Pastor. It needs to be heard. We have so many counter questions against them and everything they say, so Senator Risa Hontiveros needs to know the side of those who favor Pastor Quiboloy.)
“Kami na mga full-time miracle workers alam namin kung sino si Pastor at alam namin… at aming kilala ang lahat ng nag a-alias dyan,” he added, pertaining to former KJC members who testified in the Senate under an alias.
(We, full-time miracle workers, know who Pastor is, and we know… we personally know all those who have aliases.)
