At 2:40 p.m., Monleon was spotted by his classmates being dragged away by the strong river current due to fatigue after long hours of swimming.

The search-and-rescue team recovered Monleon’s body floating in another part of the river at 10:35 p.m.

Police said the father of the victim believed that his son died from drowning and waived the conduct of an autopsy. INQ
