A 33-year-old man, tagged as the most wanted person in the Calabarzon Region with multiple charges of rape and child abuse, was apprehended by authorities in Taytay, Rizal, on Tuesday evening, according to police.

MANILA, Philippines — A 33-year-old man, tagged as the most wanted person in the Calabarzon Region with multiple charges of rape and child abuse, was apprehended by authorities in Taytay, Rizal, on Tuesday evening, according to police.

In a report on Wednesday, the Rizal Public Information Office identified the suspect using his alias “Dante,” who has been hiding from the police for 16 years. He is facing multiple charges of rape and child abuse.

He was captured around 9:30 p.m. along Barangay San Juan during a manhunt operation launched by Rizal police, which stemmed from arrest warrants for two counts of child abuse, three counts of qualified rape, and rape.

Police did not specify other details related to the 33-year-old suspect’s cases.

However, they assured the public that Dante was now detained at the Taytay Custodial Facility.
