The 4Ps is the government’s conditional cash transfer program which provides a cash subsidy for education and medical expenses.
In exchange, beneficiaries must regularly send their children to school, as well as to care for their children’s medical needs, among other conditions.
Lopez added that the families who graduated will still be assisted by the government through an aftercare program.
“Their exit from the 4Ps program does not mean that the government will let go of them completely. The DSWD Field Office Western Visayas endorsed these families to their respective local government units (LGU) as part of the aftercare program to ensure that they will not slide back to poverty,” Lopez added.
The DSWD said 1.2 million 4Ps beneficiaries nationwide are also expected to graduate from the program this year.
The department added that 4Ps currently has 4.4 million beneficiaries nationwide.
