Siso to meet Espinosa in Cebuana net final

Cebuanas Sally Mae Siso and Hannah Grace Espinosa face each other as they contest the girls 18-under title of the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Tournament in Ubay, Bohol.

Siso, Cebu’s reigning no.1 singles girls player, advanced to the finals with a 6-1, 6-0, drubbing of Grace Melchor in the semifinals.

She clinched her semifinals ticket with a 6-1, 6-3 dismissal of Dana Uy in the quarterfinal round.

Espinosa’s trip to the finals was not a difficult one as she completed a 6-3, 6-3 rout of Keziah Ilisan in the semifinals.

In the boys division, Cebu’s bet was not so lucky after Marc Enriquez bowed to Edilberto Alcantara, 6-2, 6-4.

In the 16 under, Jarryd Laurel entered the semifinal round with a 6-4, 6-1 thrashing of Julian Lahdo in the quarterfinals.

In the distaff side, Jana Pages advanced to the semifinal round after surviving a first-round scare against Nathalie Alipe, 7-5, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. However, she failed to continue on because of health reasons, allowing Shyne Villareal to cruise through the finals.

Villareal earlier dismissed Edelweiss Donaire, 6-1, 6-3, in the quarterfinal round.

Another Cebuano who also marched to the next round was Nathaniel Alipe, who squeaked past Duma Boloto, 6-2, 7-5, in the boys 12-under. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
