PhilSA, Korea’s Perigee discuss launch of small space launch vehicles
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) has discussed with South Korean-based aerospace company Perigee the launch and reuse of small space launch vehicles.
The two space firms discussed future test launches and the launch of Perigee’s commercial ventures in the Philippines, as well as programs in the academe during the PhilSA’s two-day visit on February 13.

“The Philippines offers advantages for expanding space launch development and operation, and we are pleased to be engaging Perigee in realizing scientific and industrial opportunities that will further grow the space innovation ecosystem in our countries,” PhilSA Director-General Joel Joseph Marciano Jr. said.
PhilSA said that it will also collaborate with Perigee on a launch vehicle education program with the Jeju National University.

Article continues after this advertisement“Based on close and diverse cooperation with the Philippine Space Agency, Perigee will help pioneer the Asian space market, including Korea,” he said.
Perigee also told the PhilSA that its space launch vehicle, the Blue Whale 1, is expected to fall in Philippine waters during its first stage, which is expected to be this year.
