Lakers-Yellow, Bulls-Red win TBA games

THE Lakers-Yellow team crushed CJ Optical-White, 74-65 last Sunday in Division C while Bulls-Red drubbed Dallas-Yellow, 77-64 in the Legends category of the ongoing Talisay Balik Basketball Association (TBA)-2011 basketball tournament at the Talisay Sports Complex.

CJ Optical-White took the first quarter, 17-11 with Domie Cabigas leading the charge. But Lakers-Yellow responded with a blistering 27-14 run behind the sizzling tandem of Tony Herbas and Jojo Malongo to post a seven-point lead, 38-31 at the half.

The Lakers continued to pummel CJ Optical in the third to pad its lead to double figures behind the combined offensive attack of Sonny Bustos and Joe Utos, ending the third period with a commanding 14 points advantage, 57-43. The Lakers then steadied in the fourth to claim their second victory in three games (2-1), while CJ Optical fell to 1-3.

Earlier, in the Legends category, Bulls-Red drubbed the winless Dallas-Yellow for its second win in three games (2-1).

FEATURED STORIES

Johnny Bitang and Danny Fernandez led Bulls-Red with 16 points apiece while Allan Wong and Rolan Cañeda combined for 24 points.

Felix Villoria and Noly Nadal paced the losing Dallas-Yellow with 20 and 18 points, respectively.
