MANILA, Philippines — Flight delays ensued after a C-130 plane stalled at the Ninoy Aquino Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Thursday, the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) said.

As of this writing, Miaa said it is still completing the list of flights affected by the stalling of the C-130 plane at Naia but assured the public that international and domestic runways of the airport remained open while recovery efforts were ongoing.

“As of the time of this advisory, [the] aircraft has been towed and parked at Remote Parking Bay 24 in Naia Terminal 1,” Miaa said in a statement.

“Mopping operations at the site of the incident [are] now being done to ensure no presence of FODs prior to declaring it safe for aircraft use,” it added.

According to Miaa, the disabled aircraft was carrying 34 passengers and seven crew members.

The cause of its malfunction is yet to be determined, Miaa also noted.

The airport manager said its emergency and operations teams, with the help of the Philippine Air Force, conducted the recovery of the C-130 plane.
