Mild quake hits Southern Leyte
MANILA, Philippines — A mild earthquake struck Southern Leyte early Wednesday morning, the state seismology bureau said.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the earthquake was located west of Tomas Oppus, Southern Leyte, and had a depth of focus of one kilometer.

Although the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.8, Intensity III was felt in Tomas Oppus, Malitbog, and Bontoc in Southern Leyte.
Meanwhile, Instrumental Intensity II was felt in the City of Maasin, also in Southern Leyte.

No damages nor aftershocks were to be expected after the earthquake, the Phivolcs added.
