MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education on Monday warned the public not to fall prey to social media posts on DepEd’s scholarship assistance to students.
“The Department of Education (DepEd) warns the public about the FAKE DepEd scholarship posts circulating online,” it said.
One such post claimed that the agency was giving out P5,000 for elementary school students, P7,000 for high school students, and P10,000 for college and vocational students.
The DepEd also urged the public to report instances of misleading information about education.
“Please report any misleading and suspicious information about basic education to depedactioncenter@deped.gov.ph,” it added.
