Just wait and relax, Corona tells lawmakers

MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Renato Corona tried to appease the lawmakers and the public over his much anticipated testimony in his impeachment trial.

“Relax lang. Just wait for my testimony,” the Chief Justice said in a text message Wednesday sent to reporters.

During Tuesday’s impeachment trial, defense lawyer Jose Roy III said the Chief Justice will testify along with other additional witnesses including Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.

Roy said Corona wants to answer under oath all the allegations against him.
