P548,000 shabu seized from 2 suspects in Laguna, Batangas

Police authorities have arrested one of Laguna's most wanted persons in the province following a manhunt operation over the weekend

LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were arrested and yielded more than P548,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Laguna and Batangas province on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and 17, police said in a report.

The Region 4A police said the members of the drug enforcement unit in Sta. Cruz, Laguna arrested  around 2 a.m. Saturday “Kerwin” after he sold shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Santisima Cruz.

The suspect had in his possession five sachets of shabu weighing 51 grams worth about P346,800, the report said.

The police also seized the suspect’s mobile phone, which will be examined for records of drug transactions and his motorcycle believed to have been used in the distribution of illegal drugs.

In Lipa City, Batangas at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, police drug enforcers busted “Teng” in a sting operation in Barangay Balintawak.

He was found to have seven sachets containing shabu worth P201,280.

Both suspects were on the police watch list as street-level drug pushers.

The arrested suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
