BI: Beware of eTravel registration scam
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday issued a warning against scammers who offer to document processing for the eTravel electronic travel declaration system.
According to the BI, the eTravel registration is free of charge at the official website.
“The eTravel registration process is absolutely free of charge. We, therefore, advise the traveling public to register only in the government’s official website at https://etravel.gov.ph.,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said.
The bureau issued the warning after receiving reports that some individuals charge travelers fees in exchange for processing their eTravel registration.
The fees range from P3,000 to P5,000, the BI said.
