LUCENA CITY — Sea travel for small vessels in the northern part of Quezon province is still suspended on Tuesday, Feb. 13, due to bad weather, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

Citing a 5 a.m. forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the PCG advisory said a strong gale with wind force associated with the northeast monsoon was affecting the northern and eastern coast of Polilio Island, the northern coast of Panukulan, Burdeos, the eastern coast of Patnanungan and Jomalig, all island municipalities in the northern part of Quezon facing the Pacific Ocean.

“In this regard, all fishing boats and all trips of small crafts below 250 gross tonnages throughout the above-mentioned areas in northern Quezon are hereby suspended,” the PCG-Northern Quezon said in its order.

The PCG started the suspension of sea travel for small vessels on Monday, Feb. 12.

The suspension order would be lifted and sea travel for small crafts “may resume anytime when weather/sea conditions permit as may be declared” by Pagasa, the PCG-Northern Quezon said.

A copy of the order was posted on the Facebook page of the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog.
