THE Los Demonyous nipped Super Idolz, 71-70, in come-from-behind fashion last Saturday at the start of the 2nd round of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-2012 summer basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
Super Idolz led in the first three periods and posted its biggest lead at 59-47 after unloading a, 21-13 run in the third quarter.
However, Los Demonyous managed to crawl back from that 12-point hole on Lito Ortiz’s jumper to forge the first deadlock at 69-all with 14.7 seconds remaining. In the return play, Idolz’s Fermin Pepito sank one of his two free throws for a, 70-69 lead before Edward Bauzon canned the game-winning lay-up for the come-from-behind victory.
Bauzon led Los Demonyous with 23 points while Pepito and Benjo Macion paced Idolz with 22 and 21 points, respectively.
In the other Top 4 match, Pecandela Law Firm trounced Bhutakalz, 82-74 with Mark Russ Gamallo scoring 25 points.
In the battle of bottom 4 squads, the Eagles crushed Primos, 76-66 with Marvin Miralles scoring 16 points while Al Limalima paced Primos with 24 markers.
Meanwhile, in the other bottom 4 game, Pañeros drubbed Jodin, 64-48. Ruel Juban and Dennis Aliño led Pañeros with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
