A dose of ‘kilig’ on MRT’s ‘Love Train’ this Valentine’s Day
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will launch its “Love Train” on Thursday to celebrate the love month.
“Love Train” is an MRT 3 train adorned with flowers, pick-up lines, and other decorations related to Valentine’s Day, according to Transportation Assistant Secretary for Railways and MRT 3 officer-in-charge Jorjette Aquino.

“Gusto rin sana namin makapagbigay ng kaunting saya, ngiti, o kaya naman ay kilig sa aming mananakay habang sila ay bumabyahe para maging maganda naman ang umpisa ng kanilang araw,”
Article continues after this advertisement“We also want to bring a little joy, smiles, or even kilig [romantic excitement] to our passengers as they travel so that their day starts beautifully,” Aquino said in Filipino in a Radyo 630 interview.
Article continues after this advertisementShe added that the “Love Train” will run on both the northbound and southbound lanes of the MRT 3.
Despite the name, Aquino clarified that the train would be available to everyone, not just couples.
The “Love Train” will run until February 29, she said.
A program featuring serenades with MRT 3’s Love Booth as a backdrop at Ayala Station will be conducted on the project’s official launch at 10 a.m.
