MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country may expect generally fair weather this coming long weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.
Based on the state weather bureau’s three-day weather outlook, Metro Manila, Baguio City, and Legazpi City will have clear skies with chances of slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from Thursday to Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said that Metro Davao may expect overcast skies with scattered rains on Thursday and good weather conditions from Friday to Saturday.
For Wednesday’s weather forecast, the state weather bureau said that the easterlies or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean continue to affect most parts of the archipelago.
It said Davao Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Southern Leyte, and Bohol will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the said weather system.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
Pagasa warned those living in low-lying areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
Batanes, on the other hand, is forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan.
Furthermore, Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said in his early morning forecast that no low-pressure area is being monitored near the country’s boundaries.
“Sa ngayon din wala pa rin tayong mino-monitor na ano mang low pressure area, so ibig sabihin medyo maliit pa ‘yung tiyansa magkaroon tayo ng bagyo hanggang sa pagtatapos ng linggong ito,” Badrina said.
(We are still not monitoring any low-pressure areas, so there is still a slight chance of us having a typhoon until the end of this week.)
He added that the country may expect at least one typhoon in February.
