Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos on Tuesday reminded local government units (LGUs) to strictly enforce the ban on tricycles and pedicabs on main thoroughfares following a road accident in Camarines Norte.

“It is unfortunate that many LGUs have not been strictly implementing such regulations which often result in traffic congestion and accidents,” he said in a statement.

On Feb. 4, a tricycle was hit by a passenger bus on the national highway in Camarines Norte but there were no additional details about deaths or injuries.
