BI  arrests unruly American in Palawan

 

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday reported the arrest of an American national in Palawan on Monday for numerous community infractions.

According to the BI, Daniel Earl Ayers, 59, was arrested in Taytay, Palawan in a joint operation with the Philippine National Police – Field Operations Division/Intelligence Group.

The immigration bureau said Ayers was declared persona non grata in some towns in Palawan for complaints such as cursing, disrespecting, and threats against residents.

The BI then implemented a Warrant of Deportation against him.

In September 2022, Ayers was arrested for possession of illegal lumber, which he claimed that he will use to build a house.

Ayers is currently detained at the BI Warden Facility in Taguig pending his deportation.

“Our primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of our nation. This operation reflects our unwavering dedication to enforcing immigration laws and maintaining public order,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said.
