MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have not received any reports of a bomb threat at the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“As per QCPD (Quezon City Police District) negative report daw po sa kanila ‘yung bomb threat sa Congress, (they said the reports on bomb threat in the Congress are negative),” PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo told INQUIRER.net in a Viber message on Monday.
The House of Representatives is on heightened alert after some lawmakers received bomb threats at the Batasang Pambansa complex, according to its secretary general Reginald Velasco.
Velasco said they are taking “special precautions” due to the incident.
According to Velasco, they have witnessed motorcycles roaming around the Batasang Pambansa complex, prompting them to impose measures like the designation of special parking spots.
