MANILA, Philippines — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) on Friday said it has developed a course for content creation for aspiring social media influencers.
Tesda chief Suharto Mangudadatu said the agency has developed the competency standards on Content Creation (Social Media) Level III which may be used by institutions as their curriculum.
Tesda has yet to offer this course in its training centers.
Mangudadatu said the core competencies for this qualification include creating concepts for social media posting, translating concepts into multimedia content, and propagating content.
“Virtual networks and communities have enabled us to connect with our audience, build brand awareness, and strengthen engagement,” Mangudadatu said in a statement. “However, the effectiveness of our efforts relies heavily on the quality and relevance of the content we share.”
“Our content creators must be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to produce compelling and engaging content,” he added.
Mangudadatu urged technical vocational institutions to offer courses on content creation using the Tesda-devised competency standards.
“Many of our kababayans are very talented and resourceful, and I am confident that if given the right skills, they will be better positioned to create content that resonates better with their audience, foster meaningful connections, and ultimately contribute significantly to society,” he pointed out.
Tesda developed this curriculum in coordination with the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc.
