DTI chief sees PH, Vietnam as partners in prosperity, economic growth

MANILA, Philippines — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Fred Pascual said that Vietnam and the Philippines can partner for growth and economic prosperity.

According to Pascual, the two countries share “rich cultures, hardworking people, and immense potential.”

The DTI chief said this at a forum held among business leaders of the two countries on the sidelines of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s state visit to Vietnam.

“We gather here not just as business leaders from two distinct nations but as partners in a journey toward shared prosperity and sustainable growth. Our two countries have rich cultures, hardworking people, and immense potential,” Pascual said in his speech on January 29.

The DTI said that the Trade secretary opened on the topic of mutual development between the two countries as well as imports and exports.

Pascual added that the two countries’ goals should be fair competition and sustainable economic growth.

“Our collective goal must be to create an environment where businesses can compete fairly, flourish, and contribute to generating jobs and sustainable economic growth for both the Philippines and Vietnam,” Pascual added.
