MANILA, Philippines — At least 16 politicians from Pangasinan’s 4th District — including former lawmaker Gina de Venecia — have joined the political party Lakas-CMD, according to Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
Romualdez on Thursday said that aside from de Venecia — wife of Lakas-CMD co-chair emeritus and former speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., and mother of Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher de Venecia — the following individuals joined the party:
- San Fabian Mayor Marlyn Agbayani
- San Fabian Councilors Hercules Magliba, Errol Sison, Rolando Pedralvez, Marieta Cuaresma, Chelsea Narvasa, and Kimberly Bandarlipe
- San Jacinto Mayor Leo de Vera
- Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario
- Winston L. Chutan
- Eduardo E. Paraan
- Nemo S. de Vera
- Pedro F. Palaganas
- Merlinda M. Tantay
- Arnold L. Saragoza
Romualdez administered the oath to the new members in a ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
“We are truly grateful to welcome all of you to our party, especially our beloved ‘Manay Gina’ as she is fondly called, who is not only a respected figure in her own right but also the spouse of our esteemed Co-chairman Emeritus,” Romualdez said.

“We look forward to working closely with you as we continue to champion the values of integrity, service, and progress that Lakas-CMD holds dear and to support the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. for socioeconomic transformation towards a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society,” he added.

Both former speaker de Venecia and incumbent Rep. Christopher De Venecia were present during the oath-taking, along with Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City 2nd District Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe, Agusan Del Norte 1st District Rep. Jose Aquino and Rep. Ramon Guico, Jr.
Lakas-CMD is currently the ruling party in the House, with 86 members as of November 21. Aside from Romualdez and Dalipe, high-ranking lawmakers like Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. and Deputy Speaker Antonio Albano are part of the party.
