MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is aiming to double the number of wi-fi hotspots in the country to the E-Local Government Unit (eLGU) system.

In a Palace briefing on Wednesday, Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. said that the initiative will be under the ‘Broadband ng Masa’ program.

According to him, the DICT had 25,000 wi-fi sites all over the country based on their data as of the end of last year.
