Manila Water’s Mandaluyong Sewer Project Package 1 to be completed this year
MANILA, Philippines — As part of bringing quality sewerage and sanitation services to its customers in the East Zone of Metro Manila, Manila Water is looking forward to the completion of its Mandaluyong West Sewer Network Package 1 this year.
Currently, Mandaluyong West Sewer Network Package 1 is 64.49% complete.
This sewer project in Barangay Hulo, Mandaluyong City, will form part of a massive 51-kilometer sewer network called the Mandaluyong West-San Juan South-Quezon City South Sewer Project.
The P4.2-billion sewer network will have a 60-million-liter-per-day (MLD) capacity sewer treatment plant (expandable to 120 MLD) and will also include 1 major pump station, 13 lift stations, 276 interceptor boxes, and a 16-channel interceptor. By 2037, the sewer network is expected to serve 704,260 residents of Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Quezon City.
“Manila Water is ramping up its sewerage and sanitation services to reach more customers as part of its Service Improvement Plan. The company is investing heavily in wastewater infrastructure to contribute to better community health and promote environmental sustainability,” Corporate Communications Affairs Group Director Jeric Sevilla said.
Up east of Metro Manila, the East Zone concessionaire is expecting to complete another sewage treatment facility called the Hinulugang Taktak Sewer Treatment Plant (HT STP) in December 2024. Made possible through a partnership with the Rizal Provincial Government, the local government of Antipolo City and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, the HT STP will have the capacity to treat 16 MLD of wastewater to help rehabilitate the historic Hinulugang Taktak falls.
