LTO revokes license of viral QC road rage driver
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday said it revoked the license of a driver known online as “Mang Boy” over his involvement in three road rage incidents which all went viral.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the driver, identified as Jessie Virtudazo, had his license revoked after an administrative hearing last week.
“His license was revoked because he is an ‘improper driver’ in the sense that, at least, at the instances he was supposed to drive, it showed that he is not in a position to drive,” Mendoza said in an interview with INQUIRER.net.
Mendoza, however, said that Virtudazo can appeal the administrative penalty.
“After a certain time, if he has seen remorse,” said Mendoza.
Virtudazo was caught on camera having an altercation with motorists in three instances, all recorded in Quezon City this year.
In one of the incidents, Virtudazo was caught on camera approaching a fellow motorist while holding what appears to be a baton.
Mendoza urged motorists to be patient to avoid similar incidents.
“Take a deep breath, count from one to ten, and you will realize that it’s not worth the time, not worth the effort,” Mendoza said.
“All of those who underwent hearing always regretted it in the end,” he added.
