ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) joins the nationwide pre-launch of the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ campaign, which is identified with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“Bagong Pilipinas is a brand embodying the governance and leadership approach of our esteemed President, Ferdinand Marcos. It represents more than a shift in governance, it symbolizes the commitment to face the current challenges head-on and construct a future, for the dreams and aspirations of every Filipino,” explained Brigadier General Bowenn Masauding, PRO-9 director.
“The Philippine National Police stands at the forefront of this movement, entrusted with the task of safeguarding the fabric of our society,” he added.
The pre-launch in this city coincided with the nationwide event held in Camp Crame today, where thousands of police officers took their oath and expressed commitment to support and campaign for Bagong Pilipinas.

Lieutenant Colonel Helen Galvez, PRO 9 spokesperson, explained that the pledge of commitment was not political.
“We cannot say it’s a violation (of our oath) when we commit our support to theme of the administration’s leadership. The support we expressed and committed is to our daily mandate, on a daily basis, we will give our best to give a better public safety services and that is our contribution (to Bagong Pilipinas), “ Galvez explained.
In the Zamboanga Peninsula region, Galvez said 8,328 police officers committed to the Bagong Pilipinas activities and their task is “to invite the communities to join the transformation program of the Philippine government, not actually the President, but the Philippine government.”
If there are members of the police force who will not subscribe to Bagong Pilipinas, Galvez said they would respect them.

“It’s okay, we are free, what we are doing now is a campaign, and a campaign is an invitation, an open invitation to join us for this,” Galvez added.
The event here started with several pledges from different stakeholders and the reading of the oath, followed with the pinning of the Bagong Pilipinas badges, lighting of candles, and playing of the PNP hymn and the song ‘Pilipinas Kong Mahal.’
Before the event, the ‘Bagong Lipunan’ hymn was played briefly.
