MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) on Tuesday announced that a price freeze on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is in effect in nine locations in Mindanao due to a state of calamity (SOC) brought by weather disturbances.
The price freeze for LPG in cylinders 11 kilograms and below as well as kerosene products will be in effect 15 days from the declaration of the state of calamity.
“[A] price freeze for household Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in cylinders (11 Kg and below) and kerosene products is now in effect and will remain valid for 15 days upon the declaration of the SOC,” the DOE said.
Below is the list of areas where the LPG price freeze is in effect:
Davao del Norte
- Barangay Cambanogoy, Municipality of Asuncion – January 16-30, 2024
- Municipality of Carmen – January 17-31, 2024
- Municipality of New Corella – January 17-31, 2024
- Municipality of Sto. Tomas – January 18 – February 1, 2024
- Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali – January 19 – February 2, 2024
- Municipality of Kapalong – January 19 – February 2, 2024
Agusan del Sur
- Municipality of Santa Josefa – January 17-31, 2024
- Municipality of Veruela – January 18 – February 1, 2024
- Municipality of Loreto – January 18 – February 1, 2024
“Any rollback of prices however shall be implemented while price increases are strictly prohibited within the 15-day period counted from the day of SOC implementation,” it added.
