MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Tuesday that the Facebook page of its Region 10 division was hacked.
According to the DILG, harmful content may have been published on the page.
“The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region X today confirmed that its official Facebook page, “DILG Region X,” has been compromised by unauthorized access. This unfortunate incident may have resulted in posts containing harmful content being published on the page,” it said.
The department said that it is “actively working” to solve the situation and will take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“DILG Region X is actively working to address the situation. It is also implementing additional security measures to prevent future incidents,” it continued.
It also urged the public to report any “unsuitable posts” that were made using the compromised page.
