MANILA, Philippines — The operation of new transport network vehicle service player, inDrive, have been suspended, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) confirmed on Tuesday.

“The operations of the RL SOFT CORPORATION, operating under the name inDrive, has been temporarily suspended by the LTFRB until it complies with MC 2019-036: Fare Rates For Transportation Network Vehicle Services(TNVS),” the office said in a statement sent to reporters.

The suspension is valid starting January 23, and inDrive was only given 15 days to present proof of compliance.

In a show-cause order dated January 8, the LTFRB asked inDrive to defend why its accreditation should not be revoked or canceled following allegations of fare haggling.

Such an act is considered a violation of the terms and conditions of its accreditation as a Transport Network Company, the order said.

InDrive was also directed to attend an in-person hearing at the LTFRB office on January 23.

“The LTFRB remains committed to ensuring the safety and fair practices within the transportation industry. Haggling of fares not only goes against the principles of transparency but also jeopardizes the welfare of both passengers and drivers. We take these allegations seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the extent of the violation,” the LTFRB said.
