NTC orders SMNI to stop operations indefinitely

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has ordered an indefinite suspension of the operations of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) radio and television stations.

In an order dated Jan. 18, the NTC ordered Swara Sug Media Corporation, the business name of SMNI, to cease and desist its operations pending a hearing and final consideration of its administrative case lodged before the commission.

PH Navy airdrops supplies to BRP Sierra Madre – source

Personnel of the BRP Sierra Madre, a Navy outpost in the West Philippine Sea, received their supplies through airdropping over the weekend, a senior military official confirmed on Tuesday.

The source, who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity, said the airdrop mission conducted by a Philippine Navy Islander maritime patrol aircraft NV314 was conducted on Sunday at 8:49 am.
