Bereaved Manileños to receive P3,000 funeral aid from city hall
MANILA, Philippines — Bereaved Manileños who have recently lost family members are now eligible to receive P3,000 funeral assistance, the City of Manila Public Information Office (PIO) said on Monday.
According to Manila PIO, the “Unang Abuloy ng Maynila” initiative was part of Ordinance No. 9019, which takes effect on January 22, 2024.

The ordinance, authored by District 6 Councilor Salvador Philip Lacuna and signed by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, “provides death benefit assistance to the bereaved family of a bona fide resident of the city or a duly registered voter of Manila,” the PIO said in a post on Facebook.
For deceased minors, the parents should either be residents or registered voters of Manila for the family to be eligible for the funeral aid, it added.
The PIO likewise said that the Manila Mayor has tasked the barangays through the Manila Barangay Bureau and Liga ng mga Barangay to report recently deceased residents or registered voters through the following hotlines:
