1 dead, 1 hurt in Zamboanga City blast
MANILA, Philippines – One person was killed and another was wounded after an explosive device went off in Zamboanga City Monday, a military official said.
Captain Albert Caber of the First Infantry Division Public Affairs Office said the explosion happened inside the house being rented by the victims along Baliwasan Tabuk in Barangay (village) Baliwasan around 5:15 p.m.
He said the house was owned by a police officer assigned at the Jolo Provincial Police Office.
He said authorities have yet to determine the type of explosive that went off, but initial reports said that the device was believed to be a locally made dynamite.
