MANILA, Philippines – Cloudy skies, possible isolated rain showers and cooler weather will prevail in different parts of the country on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Patuloy nating mararanasan ang epekto ng northeast monsoon o yung malamig na hanging amihan sa malaking bahagi ng Northern Luzon.” said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil.
(The effects of the northeast monsoon or cold air will prevail in most parts of Northern Luzon.)
“Samantala for the next 24 oras dito sa Southern Mindanao, posibleng makaranas ng kalat kalat na pag ulan na may pagkulog at pagkidlat bunsod ng trough o extension ng low pressure area na nasa labas ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Villamil added.
(In southern Mindanao, scattered rain showers and thundrstorms are expected due to the trough or extension of an LPA outside PAR.)
Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorm will particularly affect the Soccsksargen region. Possible flash floods and landslides are possible, Pagasa warned.
“Sa Metro Manila and nalalabing bahagi ng bansa, patuloy tayong makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon, may tyansa pa rin ng light rains o pag ambon na dala ng amihan.”
(Fair weather with possible light rains due to the amihan will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.)
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected, while flash floods and landslides are likewise possible in rain-affected areas, the state weather bureau said.
